If you’re a fan of the thriller kdrama, you’ve come to the right place. The drama I’m introducing today, “A Bloody Lucky Day,” is a Tving original drama that was released at the end of last year. Like “A Killer Paradox,” which I introduced yesterday, this drama is also based on a Naver webtoon. These days, it seems that dramas and movies based on webtoons are doing well at the box office in Korea.

Anyway, I watched this drama without knowing the original content, and the shock and tension were no joke. The drama is a total of 10 episodes and was released in two parts, Part 1 and Part 2, in Korea. And I was so immersed in it that I watched all the episodes in just one day as soon as they were released. The streaming service for “A Bloody Lucky Day” will be exclusively released on Paramount+ on February 1st, so it’s something to look forward to.

What is the plot of “A Bloody Lucky Day”?

Oh Taek, a taxi driver, has a dream about a pig and on a day when his luck is good, he picks up a long-distance passenger, Geum Hyeok-su, who offers a large sum of money. Geum Hyeok-su talks about various things and his past in the taxi. In the middle of this, Oh Taek hears Geum Hyeok-su’s murder story and finds out that Geum Hyeok-su is a serial killer. Oh Taek is scared of Geum Hyeok-su and tries to run away, but there is a reason why he can’t escape from the killer.

Who is in the cast?

Oh Taek (Lee Sung-min)

Oh Taek is a rather optimistic and easy-going regular taxi driver. Oddly enough, on a lucky day, he gets offered a taxi fare of 1 million won from a long-distance passenger.

The role of Oh Taek is played by actor Lee Sung-min, who delivered outstanding performances in “Reborn Rich” and “Shadow Detective“. It’s no exaggeration to say that the biggest reason I started watching this drama is precisely because Lee Sung-min was in it. I still can’t forget his portrayal of Chairman Jin Yang-cheol in “Reborn Rich”. He’s famous for being a prolific actor, and his acting range is very wide, so he shows his unique and wonderful acting in each work.

Geum Hyeok-su (Yoo Yeon-seok)

Geum Hyeok-su is a serial killer who is planning to cover up his murder and smuggle himself away. He proposes a long-distance taxi ride to Oh Taek, but there’s another reason behind it.

The role of the serial killer Geum Hyeok-su is played by actor Yoo Yeon-seok, who starred in “Narco-Saints” and “Hospital playlist“. It might seem unusual for Yoo Yeon-seok, with his warm looks and good image, to play a serial killer, but he pulled off the role with chilling acting skills. If you’ve seen other works featuring actor Yoo Yeon-seok, you might look forward to how he will show different acting this time.

Hwang Soon-kyu (Lee Jung-eun)

Hwang Soon-kyu is the mother of Yoon-ho, who was killed by a serial killer. With a desperate heart, she personally pursues the serial killer who killed her son.

The role of Hwang Soon-kyu is played by actress Lee Jung-eun, who starred in “Parasite” and “Daily Dose of Sunshine“. Although it was a character not originally in the work, the addition of the character of a lonely mother coldly chasing the criminal added vitality to the drama.
